Eight years, eight months, six flats, six companies, one postgraduate degree, one massive heartbreak and thousands of happy memories later, here we are saying goodbye to our little life in the UK. As we reflect back on our time in this part of the world, we know we will sorely miss the people, places and experiences that made it so special for us.
Here are just a few of our favourite memories of our life in the UK in no particular order:

- Drinks, dinners, coffees and teas with good friends
- Walking along the top of Verulamium Park in St Albans looking at the cathedral
- Cycling through Heartwood Forest in Sandridge
- Walking in the North Downs, South Downs and other beautiful English countryside
- Eating seafood at Mersea Island
- Exploring the Woolacombe Beach in Devon
- Experiencing London Southbank
- Camping in Wales, Devon, Gloucestershire and Sussex
- Winter beach walks at Camber Sands
- Exploring Beachy Head and Seven Sisters
- Dog walks – anywhere and everywhere with good friends
- Opening Chez Malinak to countless wonderful visitors from around the world
- Surviving the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
- Walking the barren beacons and moors of England, Scotland and Wales
- Going back in time at the many historic palaces and castles
- Ice skating at Somerset House, Hyde Park and Tower of London
- Warming up in front of a pub fire
- Drinking squash, PG Tips, Guinness, mulled wine and Pims
- Going to the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit
- Enjoying the tradition of afternoon tea
- Taking the Thames boat cruise with all our visitors
- Photographing London at night
- Eating bangers and mash, curries, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding and roasts
- Taking part in in an English graduation ceremony
- Greeting our friendly neighbourhood cows in Waterbeach daily
- Walking to and in beautiful Richmond Park
- Picnics in the Wetlands Centre of St Albans in the apple orchard
- Experiencing the London 2012 Olympics and London 2012 Paralympics
- Playing in the snow with good friends and lovely pups
- Watching spring blossom and come to life in Verulamium Park
- Living on Blacksmiths Lane in St Michael’s Village
- Travelling by train all over the country with dog in the lead
- Buying fruit and veg at our weekly market and £1 bowls of bananas
